Wessler Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of drinking water engineering projects that improve the infrastructure and quality of life in the communities we serve.

This is an opportunity for a proven engineering professional who enjoys leading teams, building trusted client relationships, and taking ownership of projects from initial scope through design and construction. You’ll combine technical knowledge, project management, and business development skills to deliver exceptional solutions for municipal clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of drinking water infrastructure projects from project development through completion.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, developing strong relationships and ensuring client needs and expectations are met.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, staffing, and overall financial performance.
  • Guide project teams and coordinate engineers, technicians, and other technical professionals to deliver high-quality work.
  • Oversee projects involving water treatment facilities, distribution systems, pump stations, storage facilities, and related drinking water infrastructure.
  • Lead client meetings, project presentations, design reviews, bidding, contract awards, and other key project milestones.
  • Coordinate regulatory approvals, permits, agency requirements, and other project deliverables.
  • Provide technical direction and oversee project QA/QC to ensure work meets Wessler’s standards for quality and professional excellence.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and profitability, taking action when adjustments are needed.
  • Manage changes in project scope and coordinate contract modifications when appropriate.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of engineers and other team members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients and actively contribute to business development and securing new project opportunities.
  • Prepare and support proposals, fee estimates, project schedules, scopes of work, and service agreements.
  • Represent Wessler Engineering professionally and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and communities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional civil engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with drinking water engineering projects, including water treatment, distribution, pumping, storage, or related infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Indiana.
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership while effectively balancing project quality, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license.
