Structural Engineer
About the Role
This position assists in the design of structures for civil engineering projects as assigned. Responsibilities include assisting in client contact and communication, preparing design computations and quantity estimates for structural components, reviewing structural shop drawings, assisting Resident Project Representatives in answering and resolving structural issues in constructions and using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Candidate must have knowledge of:
- Sources of gravity and lateral loads and acceptable methods and references to estimate design loads on structures
- Structural analysis (load path, 2D and 3D structural systems, axial and bending behavior, lateral force resisting systems)
- Reinforced concrete design (walls, beams, columns, and two-way slabs)
- Structural steel design (beams, columns, braces, and connections)
- Acceptable business communication styles demonstrating clarity, readability and correctness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; focus on Structural Engineering
- Engineer Intern (EI) / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license
- Up to 2 years of experience
