Michael Ellis, one of our environmental scientists, recently earned the designation of Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). To earn the CPESC certification, the applicant must have a combination of professional experience and educational credit totaling seven years and then pass a technical exam. Continuing education is also required to maintain the certification. CPESCs have been trained and tested on their proficiency in the following subjects and much more:
- federal, state and local regulations
- various permitting types and methods
- erosion and sediment site planning and management
- soil loss prediction.
