Wessler Welcomes Benjamin Schroeder

We are proud to announce a new addition to the Wessler team! Benjamin Schroeder has joined as an Engineer in our Bluffton, Ohio office.

Benjamin is a 2016 graduate from Trine University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Structural Science in Civil Engineering.

We asked Benjamin a few questions so that we all can get to know him better.

What attracted you to the civil engineering industry?

I was attracted to the engineering field because I believed it to be a challenging and respected line of work. I find there is true satisfaction when you put forth an abundance of time, energy, and focus solving problems and finding solutions that will eventually lead to a finished project. Civil engineering was the easy choice for me because I enjoy the nature of the work and how civil engineering disciplines positively and directly affect communities and overall public.

What are some things you enjoy doing in your free time?

There are many things I enjoy doing in my spare time ranging from reading, watching movies and TV shows with my wife, and spending time with family and friends.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and what would you do?

It would be an absolute blessing to visit heaven and listen to “The Man” speak about anything and everything. However, due to the many complications regarding that divinity, I will stick with a more tangible reality. And to answer that, I will say I wouldn’t want to be anywhere but where I am. Traveling is fun and exciting, but after living away and in the city, there is truly “no place like home.” (Dorothy Gale)

What are some things you are passionate about?

I am very passionate about time spent with family and friends, but I also enjoy playing and following sports (at times, too much). Being a former athlete, I still enjoy playing pick-up games, in addition to coaching and helping out in youth athletics.
