Dillman Road Wastewater Treatment Plant Filter Building and Disinfection Upgrades

The City of Bloomington required upgrades to their filter and disinfection processes at their Dillman Road Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Wessler staff was hired to complete SCADA programming for these treatment processes. The project was unique in that Wessler’s staff completed the control panel design, managed the panel builds, created the phasing approach and managed all communications between Wessler and utility operations staff to fully understand the client’s needs for managing the process controls.

Challenges included a complex project management schedule, a very complicated commissioning schedule and completely retrofitting a controls system during peak flow conditions at the WWTP with zero impact to the process. After the design on the project was completed, the new filter process and programming upgrades were brought into working condition within a year. The following year included completion of the work on the disinfection process.
