Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement

Funded by $12 million from the State Revolving Fund (SRF), the City of Warsaw’s sewer rehabilitation project included prioritization, preliminary engineering report (PER), design, bid and construction management of small and large diameter sewer rehabilitation, manhole rehabilitation and sewer replacement.

The Wessler team assisted City of Warsaw officials with the prioritization of their sewer collection system through field investigations, closed circuit television technology (CCTV) video reviews, evaluating pipe under state road and railroads. A PER was completed to evaluate rehab alternatives, determine sewer segments in need of replacement and develop cost estimates.

After the PER was completed and SRF-approved, the design was separated into three bid packages: replacement, small diameter rehabilitation and large diameter rehabilitation. The projects included cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of more than 95,000 linear feet of sewer pipe, the rehabilitation of nearly 600 manholes and the replacing and upsizing of approximately 5,000 linear feet of undersized sewer mains.

This project rehabilitated and/or replaced more than 20% of Warsaw’s entire sanitary system.
